KontrolFreek TEE Freek and FPS Freek CQC Signature Review

Hay Friends! Its YerNemesis and I'm back with another review of more KontrolFreek products. Today I received the FPS Freek CQC Signature and the TEE Freek. I ordered these because after a week with the TD Freek in found I can no longer play games with out them. And because i use different controllers for different games I needed multiple pairs. I will tell you why I use different controllers another time. But for now lets get to the Freeks.

TEE Freek

The TEE Freek are the same as the TD Freek I previously reviewed (at great length) earlier. You can read that review here. The only differences in the two are the color and design on the top of the grip. The TEEs is white, while the TDs are a brownish-orange. The TDs have football laces on them and the TEEs have golf ball dimples. I still honestly cannot feel the laces on the TDs after hours of play. The same goes with the TEEs. At first I noticed the dimples a little, but it still felt natural. And after playing for a while I stopped noticing them altogether. I do like the TEEs more than the TDs, because I think they look better. I love the white look on my controllers. The brownish-orange is kind of ugly. With that being said I have to recommend the TEE Freeks as well.

These are my Pros and Cons for the KontrolFreeks TEE Freek only.

Pros:
-        Increased accuracy
-        Ability to use a higher sensitivity
-        Extremely comfortable
-        Not too expensive

Cons:
-        They look funny on the controller, but better than the TD Freek
-        May take time getting use to (especially for XBOX360 gamers due to the dome shape)
May be too tall for smaller hands

FPS Freek CQC Signature

I ordered the FPS Freek CQC Signature because I wanted to try them out to see it they are equally as effective as the others. My first impression was great, I love the green color. I looks good on all of my controllers. To clarify I have silver, black and white controllers. The green blends well with all of them. The CQCs are much shorter than the TDs and the TEEs. They add just over half the height ad the other to the stock controller thumbsticks. I played with these for some time and found them to be extremely comfortable. they add good height to the stock sticks which still allows you to raise the sensitivity you play on. I found them to be too short for me no that I am use to the height of the TDs and TEEs. These are the way to go for those of you with smaller hands.

KontrolFreek TD Freek Review

Hay friends! It’s YerNemesis! But you can call me Justin. Today we are going to review the KontrolFreeks TD Freek.  After watching countless videos by different YouTubers celebrating their different KontrolFreeks, I decided to give them a try. The reason I chose the TDs was the price. After reading review after review on their site I realized there was no real difference between the TDs and the FPS Freek SNIPRs. The only difference I could see was aesthetic. The TD look like a football and the sniper has a cross hare pattern. The reason I was choosing between those and no the original FPS Freeks is I prefer the domed shape not the concave  Now that you know my thought process, lest review the TD Freeks.

When I first got the Freeks I was skeptical that they would help with my reaction time and aim. I was truly surprised to find them exceptionally comfortable. I have large hands and even the XBOX360 controller sometimes feels small to me. And the thumb sticks on the controller seem really short under my extra long thumbs. With the TDs attached to the sticks, the controller instantly became comfortable and felt natural.

A few YouTubers say they only use the Freeks on the right stick. I tried that and it felt way too odd for me, so I stuck the other Freek on the left stick which for me balanced out the controller.  All of this was found out before I even played a game with them. So I was still skeptical about the boost to my accuracy and reaction time.

I have been playing Call of Duty ever since COD4 Modern Warfare.  I started out playing on a five sensitivity and worked up to an eight in Modern Warfare 2. But halfway through MW3 I realized my accuracy was always much lower than everyone on my friends list, so I dropped the sensitivity down to either a two or three depending on the gun and map I was playing (which was a pain in the ass). I heard by using the KontrolFreeks a player is able to raise their sensitivity and not lose any accuracy. This immediately sparked my interest because I was always getting “turned on” (meaning I would shoot someone in the back and they would spin and shoot me) and could never return the favor, due to playing on a lower sensitivity. The first game I played using the Freeks I kept my sensitivity where it was. After a few games I was not able to tell the difference in my aiming. Then I bumped up the sensitivity. And not just a little. I went from a three to an eight in Modern Warfare 3. If you have tried this from one game to another you know how crazy that sounds. But to my surprise (again) it felt natural. I was now able to “turn on” everyone. It was liberating. Then I realized I was tremendously more accurate. As I kept playing I began to see that I was racking up headshots. Headshots have always eluded me. It frustrated me all through MW2 that I could never get enough of them to get the good gun camos. Now with the Freeks I routinely get the needed headshots.
During long gaming sessions my hands would be sore and cramped. Ever since I started playing with the Freeks I have no pain or cramping in my hands. The last concern I had seems to only pertain to the TD Freeks. It’s the football lace design on the grips. I thought they would be uncomfortable or at least a little irritating. However I discovered I do not even notice them while playing. This was truly tested with the release of Black Ops 2. I played between six and eight hours. Not once did I feel the lace pattern. And buy the end of the session I could not be any happier with the decision to get the TD Freeks.

I now highly recommend any and every gamer get a pair or KontrolFreeks. I would however recommend anyone with smaller hands try the FPS Freek CQC. I will be getting a set of them really soon and will do another review (a much shorter one).

These are my Pros and Cons for the KontrolFreeks TD Freek only.

Pros:
-        Increased accuracy
-        Ability to use a higher sensitivity
-        Extremely comfortable
-        Not too expensive

Cons:
-        They look funny on the controller (someone may like it)
-        May take time getting use to (especially for XBOX360 gamers due to the dome shape)
-        May be too tall for smaller hands
